Gallery Night at Chartreuse

April 18th 6-9 PM

Photography exhibit by Benjamin Pagenkopf.

"I want to take pictures of things that nobody has seen."

Ben creates photographs of nature that have a great ethereal quality. This is in part due to Ben's unique ability to capture water and light. He has a special sense of color, pattern, and texture. Ben also has High-Functioning Autism. Autism can create challenges in communication, language, and motor skills. It often intensifies perceptions and can result in sensory overload. Ben's photographs are multi-layered and quite sophisticated for his age as well, being just 14 years old. At first glance what may look like a simple and beautiful nature photograph, when you look closely you can often find hidden surprises. Details, that are sometimes funny, sometimes thought provoking. Ben uses his unique eye to create wonderful photography and in doing that he gives the viewer a chance to see the world through a different perspective.
